October 2013 Featured Artist - KC Collins

KC Collins - Charleston, SC

Favorite A&C Item:

Gamblin oils, Gamblin Fastmatte Alkyd Oil Colors for underpainting, and Gamblin Gamvar.

Oil Painting

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, KC Collins began creating art at a very young age. During the early part of her academic career at Elon University, she decided to pursue her passion for art and explored many different media, eventually falling in love with oils. KC continued to study fine art, drawing influences from JMW Turner and Gerhard Richter.

Refining her style over the years, KC's etherial landscape paintings are at once abstract and true to life. She now resides and shows her work in Charleston, SC, while participating in several fine art festivals around the country throughout the year. Most recently, she was awarded the 2010 and 2013 Mayor's Choice/Best in Show Award at the Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Exhibition, a third place at the 2010 Festival of the Masters, as well as first place awards at the 2011 Maitland Rotary Art Festival and the 2011 Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition.
