Oil & Acrylic Brushes
Oils and acrylics are heavy body paints, thick from the tube. For adequate application, an artist needs a brush with coarse and stiff hair - most use hog bristle. Acrylic artists sometimes prefer synthetic, since water tends to soften natural bristle.
If an oil or acrylic is to be diluted in water or solvent, a soft hair brush is useful - we even have synthetic mongoose, a soft but resilient hair that holds a regular point for detail.
Oil and acrylic brushes have long handles.
