Every kid knows the magic number for crayons is 64.
Every adult remembers their first box of 64 and if they were lucky it had a sharpener in the back.
Even the name 'crayons' has a sort of allure, the smell of the wax, the peeling paper holder, the nubby crayon ends, the box of discarded half crayons in the classroom that kids without their own sets sometimes have to use.
Kids need crayons, that will never change. And the lucky ones will grow to know why 64 is the magic number.
