Kids Oil & Chalk Pastels
Most kids, teachers, and parents have heard of Craypas, which is a pretty standard school grade oil pastel. Craypas stands for crayon/pastel. It contains wax like a crayon, and a little bit of non drying oil to make it greasier and smudgier than a crayon. Sargent makes a pretty good school grade oil pastel too, which is like its cousin Craypas, but a little less expensive.
Sargent also makes a school grade chalk pastel. Their square soft pastel sticks are surprisingly rich for a school grade product, but you don't have to be rich to buy them.
