Screen Printing Inks
Screen printing inks have a particular viscosity and flow that allows them to pass through the mesh of a silk screen uniformly and evenly for a crisp and detailed print.
If the ink is too stiff, it will not pass through the openings of the mesh, if it is too liquid it will not hold edges and detail.
Speedball makes an acrylic ink specifically for graphic work on paper or board and another that can be heatset into fabric. Versatex and Jacquard Professional are fine for both types of applications.
All of our screenprinting inks are water based. Oil based inks and plastisol (polyvinyl chloride) inks are also available to the screen printer - we carry the water based versions which are usually safer, cleaner, and fine for basic screen printing needs.
