Glues & Adhesives

Most glues are PVA, which stands for polyvinyl acetate, a vinyl polymer which in an emulsion with water forms an adhesive substance. White glue like Elmer's, wood glue, and Lineco Neutral PH glue are PVA adhesives. The amount of water varies depending on the quality of the glue, a school grade will have a high water content and a professional PVA will have less water.  Sobo is also a PVA, and particularly suited for gluing fabrics.

Gane Yes Glue is a dextrin based adhesive, sometimes called Yes Paste, it could also be called a professional grade glue stick since it is thick and relatively dry (best applied with a stiff bristle brush) - non-toxic and archival.

We also offer good old Mod Podge, an all purpose craft glue and sealer which dries to either a matte or gloss finish.  Mod Podge is a good choice for gluing and sealing collages.
