Sponges

Our natural sponges are porous, dense, and very absorbent. Natural sea sponges are resiliant and useful for various art techniques including stippling, texturing, lifting of color, and ceramics.

Elephant ear sponges are shaped like you would expect. Like elephant skin, these sponges are textured. However, because they are natural and very absorbent, they are the premier surface for smoothing clay pottery while it spins on a wheel.
